Wow! The feedback to the new site has been pretty amazing. To all those that left comments on Facebook, Twitter, here and elsewhere… thank you. Those that retweeted and spread the word about our new site, that’s so cool and unexpected but we truly appreciate it.
One of my fave photographers in the whole world called the site “fucking great”. I smiled.
I assume some people saw the site and didn’t really like it. I kinda hope that’s true. I don’t want everyone to like it. All I hoped for is that the site represented who we are better, and people seem in agreement that that’s the case. Job done.
I also wanted a site that showed the variety in my photography better. Job done there too I think. There are still some tweaks to be made. The old blog images are the wrong size now so need to be reimported. That’ll take some time. And I have some of my fave weddings still to add to the Featured Weddings page. Our fave wedding of 2012 has yet to hit the blog…. It’s coming very soon…
Evelyne and I had a (small) bottle of champagne to celebrate the launch. We watched Silver Linings Playbook. I LOVED Silver Linings Playbook. If you haven’t seen it, do yourself a favour and watch it. We talked about the way things were heading. We have some exciting times ahead. I hope to share them with you. Some things I can’t even mention here. Yet.
So, it’s Friday night. I’m in a Premier Inn near Manchester. Ian Stuart was in the bar downstairs. I actually find it weird I know who he is and looked at him like he was a celebrity! In a Premier Inn!
I’m here as official photographer for the North West Wedding Fair, which is actually looking to be a pretty impressive event this weekend at Event City. I’m not exhibiting but they have plenty of photographers of varying styles and price points. Some are awful. A couple are bloody good. All I have to do is shoot images of the fair, the catwalk and the punters interacting with exhibitors. My brief includes a requests to “pay particular attention to groups of pretty women”. I’ve been doing that my entire life so I feel qualified.
I’m at the fair all day tomorrow before heading back to Birmingham to shoot Wiz Khalifa at the O2 Academy tomorrow evening. It’s my last wedding-free weekend until November.
