Apart from shooting 48 weddings in 2010, I was also busy in between shooting bands. I work regularly for magazines such as Rock Sound, Terrorizer and Metal Hammer as well as shooting for the Birmingham Live site which I launched 3 years ago.
I’ve also shot a bunch of band portraits, mostly for local bands and I hope to do much more of those in 2011.
It’s been a mixed bag too. From legends like Kiss, Aerosmith and Glen Campbell to popstars Peter Andre, The Saturdays & Olly Murs. From extreme bands to acoustic singer/songwriters. And I finally got to photograph my favourite band, Pearl Jam. Twice!
All in all a great year and here are some of my faves from the past 12 months. Enjoy!

Steve, what a flippin awesome bunch of shots. I don’t think I’ve seen a more varied or kick-ass set around! Looks like your 2010 was unbelievably busy. You haven’t secretly got a twin-brother have you? Best of luck with 2011- looking forward to seeing those new workshop dates!
There all super cool mate but would you judge me if i said I think the Peter Andre pic is my fave…….. =)
Great post Steve. Whilst I haven’t heard of many of the bands I loved the photography!

Have to agree the Peter Andre image really stood out for me which is not doing your street cred any good at all 😉 Some of my fav bands in that mix as well inspiring stuff like your wedding images.

Hi,
Love the pictures, wish you could give me some lessons. I’ve been taking pics of Set in Stone for the last year. They have a new member and I needed some ideas. Your site Rocks! Killer band shots. Great lighting, and locations. I’m just teaching myself as I go along. Send me an email if you like. I need some pointers. Thanks for putting these on the web. If you need someone to carry your bag at your next photo shoot pick me… lol
