Band Photoshoot Competition – Vote For The Finalists

Earlier this year I announced a competition for one unsigned band to win a photoshoot and get themselves a variety of great band portraits to help them to stand out from the crowd. We had loads of entries from all kinds of bands and solo artists all over the Midlands. The answer to the question, What was Steve’s favourite album of 2008, was “Asking For Flowers” by Kathleen Edwards.

I’ve now decided to upgrade the prize to include live shots of the winning band next time they play in the area.

I thought it’d be fun to let music fans and readers of this blog vote for the winning band from a randomly drawn selection of six bands/artists who entered the competition. So check out the bands’ MySpace pages, listen to their tracks and leave a comment after this blog post with the name of the band you think deserve the prize most. ONLY ONE VOTE PER PERSON PLEASE 😉

    Based on the band that has the best music and probably the most need of Steve’s excellent skills. I would say The Jaayz. Some of the bands in the list seem to already have very polished portfolios. Surely the winner should be the most deserving? Anyway top tunes from the Jaayz – go go go.

    This is tricky as there are several bands on there that I think are great… but my vote would have to be for Strangetime – music and vision – they’ve got it in bags!

    I would like to see “Start the Hour Glass” win. I’m not a metal fan but I gave my support to a couple of the band member’s. I thought it was very professionally performed, varied in mood and pace with elements for most to enjoy. They Rock.

    Thanks to everyone who voted. We got SO many more votes than we were expecting which is fantastic!

    We’ll set up the shoot asap and, of course, we’ll post some of the images from the shoot right here on the blog…

    Congrats again to Start The Hourglass. Can’t wait to do the shoot.
