Wow Steve!! So emotional. You have really captured the essence and magic of that day! Gorgeous pictures that captured all of the emotion. We absolutely love them!
Kat + Dave
Photographing a wedding at Au Chalet en Bois Rond in Quebec is a little bit of a dream job for any photographer. The location is absolutely beautiful, with forests and lakes and wooden cabins. Then throw in Kat + Dave who were absolute legends from beginning to end. More weddings like this please Universe!
But that’s not all.
There were so many amazing moments throughout their wedding day, from wedding cake made by Kat’s mom to the bridal party dancing down the aisle. One of their best friends acting as officiant for the wedding ceremony. The brilliant, hilarious and sometimes emotional speeches. Kat’s surprise dance performance for Dave, helped by her girlfriends. Guests being encouraged to randomly burst into song, but only if the song had “Love” in the title. The dance off. This wedding was full of fun and laughter all day long.
And I haven’t even mentioned the couple jumping into a little canoe for photos as the sun set beyond the trees. Wow!
As if that all weren’t enough, the groom is also a Brit so there were lots of British guests who travelled across the Atlantic to be there.
I’ll look back on this wedding as a highlight of my year. Loved it!
A week later I was shooting another wedding at Estérel Resort when I received a message on my Instagram from Kat & Dave who were actually at the venue on their mini-moon. Mad coincidence and I got to hang out with them briefly during dinner.
Big thanks to Kat & Dave and all their guests for making me feel so welcome.
If you’re planning a wedding at Au Chalet en Bois Rond, I’d love to hear all about your plans so please get in touch!
Below is a short slideshow of some of my favourite recent wedding photos… Take a look. And turn the sound up!
I’m a Brit living in Montreal with my wife, Evelyne and our three boys! Evelyne and I met in the Alps in 2003 when Evelyne thought she was a cool snowboarder and I thought I was a superstar DJ. We got married in 2007 in Cornwall, England and moved to Canada in 2014.
I photographed my first wedding in 2006 and have now shot almost 500 weddings, mostly in Canada & the UK, but I absolutely love travelling anywhere in the world. I enjoyed it when I started but love my job now more than ever.
