Wedding venues like Adelina in Gatineau, Quebec are few and far between. This beautiful location, centred around an old pinewood barn, feels truly special and is quite unique in the Gatineau / Ottawa area. The family-owned venue was created using reclaimed wood from the land to build benches and a few other pieces creating a special ambience that guests will absolutely love. Michèle and Greg transformed this simple country setting into a breathtaking wedding venue for their own wedding after they failed to find anywhere that fit their vision. And now they have it available for other couples looking for a venue that is rustic and elegant with that all-important natural setting.
Michèle says, “We see weddings not only as time-honoured traditions but also as living portraits of those getting married. You find yourself in the most beautiful of settings, eating your favourite food and drinking fine wines with the ones you love. A lifetime of memories is created on that day when you say ’I do’ and begin one of life’s most amazing journeys.
Our role is to bring to life the vision you have for your special day. We offer our unique touch based on the love you have for one another, making sure your wedding has a one-of-a-kind style that you and your guests will love. It is important to trust the people behind the scenes hosting one of the most memorable days in your life.”
As a wedding photographer, I’m drawn to these kinds of venues far more than some glitzy ballroom with purple uplighting and chandeliers. If Evelyne & I were to get married all over again I’m sure Adelina would be high on our list when it came to choosing a venue.
Adelina is a fantastic choice for an intimate, private estate wedding. This wonderful, country-chic farm is located in Gatineau and only 25 minutes from downtown Ottawa. Surrounded by picturesque countryside views, tall trees and wildflowers, you and your guests will feel right at home. The two-storey barn has recently been converted into an open concept area. Seamlessly attached is a rustic bar area made from reclaimed wood.
The venue and its owners are also very flexible when it comes to accommodating your needs and wants. Whether you want your event held outside or inside, they will work with you to create a most memorable experience. The venue includes many additional features such as beautiful landscaping, unique arches and a fire pit area.
If you’re planning a wedding at Adelina or somewhere similar I’d love to hear your plans so please drop me an email via the Contact page.

Below is a short slideshow of some of my favourite recent wedding photos… Take a look. And turn the sound up!
I’m a Brit living in Quebec with my wife, Evelyne and our three boys! Evelyne and I met in the Alps in 2003 when Evelyne thought she was a cool snowboarder and I thought I was a superstar DJ. We got married in 2007 in Cornwall, England and moved to Canada in 2014.
I photographed my first wedding in 2006 and have now shot almost 500 weddings, mostly in Canada & the UK, but I absolutely love travelling anywhere in the world. I enjoyed it when I started but love my job now more than ever.
