“It’s like rain on your wedding day…” sang Alanis Morissette back in the 90s in her song, Ironic.
It’s not really ironic of course. Just not really what most couples hope for, and the one big thing that can’t be planned. Some will tell you it’s good luck if it rains on your wedding day. I think most couples would still prefer sunshine!
Michelle & Rich were married in June. Not just any June though… The wettest June since records began! And the rain came down.
But…. and it’s a big BUT….. their wedding was amazing! The rain was fairly consistent for the whole day but when anyone remembers their wedding, I doubt the weather is something they’ll even mention.
Instead Michelle & Rich will remember being surrounded by their family and closest friends. They’ll remember the moment the bridesmaids saw Michelle in her dress for the first time. They’ll remember meeting each other at the end of the aisle and a few tears during the vows. They’ll remember the spectacular venue and how amazing the room looked with their oh-so-cool theme. They’ll remember throwing shapes on the dancefloor to Blink 182 and New Found Glory. They’ll remember laughing. A lot!
Oh… and another thing. Michelle & Rich are also wedding photographers. Being booked to shoot their wedding was a huge compliment. This was my kinda wedding. And the rain didn’t stop it being amazing one bit!
Thanks to Hannah Webster for being my right-hand woman on this one.
