3 weeks ago Evelyne celebrated her 30th birthday and I surprised her with a little trip down to the beautiful Gower Peninsula in South Wales where we rented a cottage and switched off from work, which has been somewhat overwhelming lately.

It was only 2 days but it felt like a real treat to escape on our own. Sitting on the beach with Evelyne and the kids as the sun set and then witnessing our own private display by the local bats is one of those moments I’ll look back on when I’m old.

We visited Arthur’s Stone, chased sheep with Elliott, watched the wild horses, chilled out in the pub, ate ice cream and observed the surfers while Isaac laughed his heart out in the breaking waves :)

Good times…

Isaac did have a few moments where he wasn’t enjoying the trip quite so much!

Whooooaaahhh… watch out Elliott!

I have a bit of an unhealthy obsession with grammatical errors so I just had to share this shocking apostrophe fail..

And this last one was taken by Elliott. He’s 3  :)

    To my beautiful husband…

Thank you so much for this lovely 2 days with you and the kids. I am now 30 and my life has never felt so complete. I have the most caring, understanding, loving, sweetest husband. We have built so much together since we first met and I am so proud of everything we have accomplished.
